This post marks the last blog of our My.Sky blog series. My.Sky is Skyhook's self-service customer portal that allows developers, customers and prospects to explore Skyhook’s product suite, create and manage projects for Skyhook's products, search and review documentation and receive technical support. So far, we have gone through an introduction, creating a new project and creating a new campaign. In this tutorial, we're discussing how to monitor an active project. If you do not have an active project but want to get an idea of what one would look like, check out the sample projects generated when you created your My.Sky account.

Each project illustrates useful analytic summaries describing total requests in the last 24 hours, total API request in the last 7 days (this is the same as total requests but over a longer time range) and total Unique Users in the last 7 days. There is also an adjustable date range that controls a line graph of location requests and unique users per day; this provides users the opportunity to review activity across any specific date range desired.

Personas are generated based on user location behaviors. The major categories of Personas are: demographic, behavioral and brand/retailer.

Demographic personas are derived from “homing” users and comparing their homed locations with U.S Census data. For example High Income, Graduate Degrees, College Educated, etc.

Behavioral personas are generated by identifying patterns in behavior that meet a specific criteria. These include personas such as Coffee Lovers, Business Travelers, Auto Shoppers and more.

Brands/Retailer personas are generated by identifying consumer shopping habits and brand affinities. Retailer Personas represent the majority of consumer spending in the US by providing shoppers based on 200+ brands including the NRF top 100 retailers such as Wal-Mart, CVS, McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts.

Precision Location and Hyperlocal IP

Both Precision Location and Hyperlocal IP projects will look very similar once they are active. Both of these project types will display a map highlighting countries where location requests are being made. Hovering over any of the highlighted countries displays the total number of location requests made and unique users within that country.

Further down the page you will also see a bar graph of the top countries’ total location requests and unique users. Below that you will see similar statistics for the top cities.
