FISE GROUP, a China-based internet information technology provider, is using Skyhook, the leading independent location technology provider, for Skyhook’s Emergency Services solution. This partnership will integrate Skyhook’s location positioning technology onto a FISE mobile device and ensure this device meets emergency response requirements.
Skyhook’s Emergency Positioning Software is currently being used in a mobile device created for seniors sold exclusively in Singapore, the new elderly SGiNO CP168-4G flip phone. Skyhook’s Emergency Positioning Software is integrated into the FISE senior device through an API, and helps position devices on FISE networks when an emergency call is placed. Skyhook enables emergency phone location through a device-based hybrid approach, using GNSS, Wi-Fi, ECID, and barometric pressure. Rooted in a legacy of deploying nationwide networks for E-911 for AT&T and T-Mobile, Skyhook understands the requirements and nuances of emergency location.
Accurate positioning is a critical piece of providing first responders the ability to locate a device user, and it is especially important in a senior device where the elderly user may need medical help. Mobile user location can be used in many ways, including deciding on which emergency center receives the initial call, which resources are dispatched, and more.
This phone, which will run on the KaiOS operating system, is specifically created to appeal to and serve members of Singapore’s senior population who are looking for a simple to use mobile option.
"Skyhook's location capability can power mobile devices in a wide range. We have embedded their service in our senior phone in Singapore and the users’ feedback was great. We see a bright future for using their service for more mobile devices in different scenarios such as forest patrol and police patrol." said Zhijun WU, VP of FISE Sales/Marketing.
“Emergency positioning requirements have been a growing focus in the mobile industry, and Skyhook’s solution is specifically created to help service providers remain confident in the location positioning they are providing to their customers,” said Craig Waggy, CEO. “Skyhook is thrilled to enter into a partnership with FISE GROUP and provide their devices with accurate location positioning solutions.”
