BOSTON, Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Skyhook Wireless, the inventors of Wi-Fi and hybrid positioning announced a partnership with CAMS LLC – the leader in providing online operators with payment connectivity, geolocation and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification services –  to provide Wi-Fi location services in the state of New Jersey. On November 21st, the state of New Jersey authorized online gaming. According to NJ.com, Governor Chris Christie anticipates online gaming will produce $1 billion in casino revenue by next July.

CAMS will use Skyhook's Certified Location combined with its Certified Location for Web (formerly known as Loki) product as part of the CAMS suite of geolocation and related services to ensure that people who are gaming online are actually inside New Jersey state lines.  Skyhook Certified Location uses data from multiple sources to produce a corroborated, tamper-resistant location result that ensures a user's location even if they are trying to thwart geolocation measures.  By combining data from GPS, cell radio, Wi-Fi access points, and IP addresses, Skyhook Certified Location is able to locate users with maximum confidence and detect when location sources are being faked.

Not only is Skyhook Precision Location SDK the world's most precise way to determine location, the Certified Location feature identifies fake GPS, recognizes proxy-based IP addresses designed to mask IP location. In addition, Skyhook Precision Location SDK detects if the device is a remote controlled computer sitting outside of the state of New Jersey and uses a hardened version of the W3C Geolocation function to increase the security of the location information.

Using proprietary and industry-leading applications, CAMS provides merchants in the gaming industry with the tools they need to reduce risk, comply with regulation and increase profitability. Merchants leverage CAMS' expertise in payment connections, Know Your Customer services, geo-location and fraud management - all through a single agreement integration, thereby saving time, money and valuable resources.

"The Skyhook solution will be an integral part of our broader service offering," said Matthew Katz, CEO of CAMS. "Geolocation is a primary concern in New Jersey and Skyhook's Certified Location and Location for Web enables CAMS to ensure that gamblers are in the correct jurisdiction."
