Boston is home to a thriving ecosystem of technology companies, entrepreneurs and startups, as technology and innovation are two key components to Boston’s DNA. Boston tops the list for most venture capital invested per capita across the US, with top Boston tech companies that include: Applause, Brightcove, Bullhorn, Crowdly, DataXu, EverTrue, Hubspot, KarmaLoop, Rue La La, RunKeeper, SessionM, TripAdvisor and Wayfair.
With something happening everyday in the tech community, it can be tough to keep up on the latest events in Boston, and where to go to meet up and network with the city’s best and brightest. So here is a guide to the top not-to-miss Boston area tech events coming up in the next few months.

Why Participate: For one day in September, over 1,500 of Boston tech scene’s best and brightest get out of the office and into the community to give back to local nonprofits. Teams both small and large as well as individuals donate their time across over 50 volunteer sites, giving over 7,500 hours of volunteer service in one day.
Following the day of service, TUGGers celebrate the community at an epic after party at Center Plaza in Government Center including great food, drink, live music from Music & Youth, and support for six innovative TUGG portfolio nonprofits serving under resourced local youth. Crowdsourced philanthropy is the heart of TUGG. Based on the community's votes, at the afterparty they will grant over $100k in funding.
They have curated over 50 impactful projects serving nonprofits throughout the Boston area, ranging from manual labor, to remodeling and organizational help, to skill based projects.
Below is a sampling of the type of volunteer roles available:
Give mock job interviews and other help for veterans seeking employment
Paint and assemble furniture for homeless people's living spaces
Organize after-school program spaces
Remodeling projects for a local YMCA
Do painting and landscaping for emergency shelters
Work at an urban farm that donates its produce to Boston's homeless population
