With the 117th U.S. Open now bundled up, congratulations Brooks Koepka, we wanted to reflect on Skyhook's weekend highlights.
If you were one of the lucky ones to have attended the U.S. Open at Erin Hills and stopped by the Golf Innovation Experience in the Fan Central area, you would have noticed the massive Prysm screens displaying interactive location maps. Skyhook is proud to have played a key role in empowering these maps.Skyhook's Context SDK was embedded in the event app to collect and analyze location-specific behaviors, insights and preferences of U.S. Open attendees over the four days of play at Erin Hills. These insights were then presented via innovative, live location visualizations on Prysm screens in the USGA Golf Innovation Experience. Real-time maps of the Erin Hills course were displayed to show the best viewing spots for spectators along with the crowd density at each hole. In addition, data captured by Skyhook also illustrated attendee demographics, venues visited during the event and flow of foot traffic throughout the duration of the event.
Accurate location plays a key role in enhancing the ever-important user experience, be it for attendees at a sporting event or for someone visiting a mall. Skyhook's goal, in participating at the Golf Innovation Experience, was to help deliver an even better fan experience for U.S. Open attendees.
